Program Highlights

The PA Program will be 28 months in duration.

The initial 15 months will consist of didactic training in the basic and clinical sciences on the ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV campus.

The subsequent 12 months will consist of required and elective clinical rotations throughout Oklahoma in the following areas:

  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Women's Health
  • Behavioral Health
  • Surgery
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Medicine/Surgical Electives

The final month will consist of a preceptorship in a practice arranged by the student and a summative evaluation process to ready students for entry into the profession.

  • Program Structured PANCE Preparation (PSPP)- individualized curriculum for at risk students to better prepare them for success on their first attempt on national board examinations
  • Fully Integrated System-Based Didactic Curriculum
  • Charitable Clinic Experience with emphasis on service and leadership
  • Emphasis on the Medical Humanities
  • Business courses- Medical Practice Operations
  • 8 simulation suites with 6 high fidelity adult mannequins and 2 pediatric mannequins
  • Small Campus and Faculty Student ratios

The Physician Assistant program also offers and pays for the following for all accepted students:

  • Digital Textbooks
  • Nationally Standardized tests evaluating and comparing your knowledge progression
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications
  • Point-of-Care Ultrasound
  • 22-24 Simulated patient encounters in Didactic training
  • Cadaver Procedural Skills Lab- Capstone course
  • PANCE Boards Review Course
  • PANCE Practice Exams

  • Integrated technical and procedural skills into system-based courses
  • Integrated Observed Structured Clinical Experiences (OSCEs) into system-based courses
  • Labor and Delivery Experience
  • Male and Female Sensitive Exam Experiences
  • Full cadaver dissection anatomy lab
  • Charitable Clinic experience
  • 7 required clinical rotations, 5 elective rotations, and 1 final preceptorship
    • Required: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Behavioral Health, and Surgery
    • Elective Rotation Options: Underserved, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Urology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, Hospital Medicine, Infectious Disease, Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Addiction Medicine, Urgent Care
