Journalism Education

A Journalism Education degree will produce highly employable professionals who will create, lead, and serve our community through the education of its children and promotion of exemplary and ethical media. The Journalism Education degree will provide students with the knowledge to teach courses or advise media organizations in middle schools and high schools in journalism, yearbook, broadcast production, DECA, multi-media, and other variations of these classes and orgs.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV is the only institution of higher education in Oklahoma to offer a bachelor's degree in journalism education.

Note: All Education majors, including transfer students with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree, are required by the Oklahoma Office of Educational Quality and Accreditation (OEQA) to complete at least 2 courses in a single foreign language as part of their degree requirements. 

A minimum of 124 credit hours, including General Education hours, are required for a degree.
