The BA in Graphic Design prepares students to develop strong design concepts. While understanding design language and process, students gain experience in research and collaboration. The program equips students with knowledge of industry-standard software and design skills required in professional practice.
Courses cover typography, layout, branding, etc., that train the critical and creative thinking skills of students to solve problems visually and execute designs on both print and digital platforms.
The BA in Graphic Design is a flexible program that allows students to study art within the framework of a liberal arts education. Degree requirements provide a firm foundation in art practice while leaving room for students to consider expanding their academic experience with minors or double majors. Other students may choose the BA in Graphic Design because it provides prerequisite coursework for careers or academic work outside the art discipline.
The Graphic Design program requires a total of 124 credit hours of coursework: 49 credit hours of GenEd courses + 48 credit hours of Graphic Design courses. Course requirements for the major are listed below.
